Yep, that will do fine - 40L is a good size for a 23L BIAB batch, you should be fine with the normal tap on there for just BIAB too.

I have one of these that sits over the top for draining the bag - it's not available now, but sure you can find something similar:

I've used this bag with my 40L Buffalo - it just about fits over the rim:

They sell those strainers in Ikea for £7. Another member on here pointed me in the right direction. Best bit of kit I bought for BIAB, made my last brew day so much easier. It can take a 5kg bag of wet grain no problem.

Definitely better! I was amazed how nice my first all grain brew tasted. I bought enough grain for 2 BIAB brews. After I tasted them I ordered a 25kg sack. I got a few kits to use up but after that I'll only be brewing BIAB.

I've got these 2 books and find them very good: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1409331 ... ref=plSrch

Have you been stealing my library Alex. Exact same books as me. I agree too my AG are very nice. Don't get me wrong I did some very nice kits but I won't be rushing to do any more unless I need a quick brew on.

Been looking at some recipes and for 23ltrs in my FV its saying total mash volume is 42ltrs , larger than the boiler I've just bought  , will I have to hold 5 Ltrs behind for sparging?

Confused already lol
