What you are doing is fine! You recognize that your water makes great pale beers and you brew them. Its when you might want to improve another style not as suited to your water that you might consider adjusting your water to give yourself a chance to make great beers of that style.

By the way, even with your soft water (I assume it has low alkalinity too), using some acid in your brewing can make a great improvement in your beers.

I think the coolest thing about this book is how much Martin contributed and there he is above giving personalised advice to us. You can't ask for better than that. Thanks Martin.

My copy arrived :D my wife bought it for me then described me as sad for wanting to read it !
I've done some sad things ,midnight collections of call of duty.. Harry potter :oops: .. and a comprehensive guide to Water nails my coffin :wink:
So far I've described every chapter so she understands my sadness.
