Eventually got around to reading this. Steve Hindy was one of Brooklyn Brewery, so has been at the centre of the US craft brewing scene for a while.

It's a good read, well written & while some chapters are more compelling than others, it's worth a look at if you are interested in US modern brewing history.

The chapters telling the story of pioneer craft brewers 1965-1984 (Fritz Maytag of Anchor, Ken Grossman of Sierra Nevada etc); class of 1988 (Brooklyn, Wynkoop, Rogue, Goose Island, Deschutes etc), 2nd Generation (New Belgium, Allagash, Russian River, Stone, Dogfish Head etc) and more recent breweries were of most interest.

In the final 3rd if the book there is a lot about the 3 tier system of distribution in the US and the battle with big brewers, and the merger of the Brewers Association of America and the Association of Brewers, which are probably of less interest to a UK reader.

All in all a good, up to date history if US craft brewing, the trials & tribulations of breaking the grip of ABInbev and Miller Coors, and securing a market share of 10% currently
