A nice shiny valve .

Post by Nosferatu » Sun Jan 11, 2015 2:51 am

As promised to Ditch and anyone else who was interested in the tap that made its appearance on the photo upload thread . This is the new set up I made to replace the existing tap on a standard Wilkinson's pressure barrel . All parts are stainless steel .

The whole assembly , reducer , 1/2" stainless ball valve , stainless 90° bend

Barrel end , 3/4" bsp - 1/2" reducer , fibre washer & dowty seal

The spout , 90° 1/2" m/f stainless bend
And they wonder why we drink ...

Now where to get the bits !The valve
The pipe fittings
The dowty seal
Any half decent diy/hardware shop should have the fibre washer .
And they wonder why we drink ...

I'm absolutely up for this, mate! Place in town seems to have an excellent stock of plumbing gear. I'm just waiting to hear from my mate ~ the plumber ~ so he can sort it out for me 8)

F**king Love that tap!

Well; I was in town today and spoke to a bloke in the shop. They don't carry the whole array of stainless fittings. They do do a Lot of brass stuff though.

Ends up, having heard my story, the guy offers me a Shiny stainless tap, ready made. The only thing stopping me bringing it home is not knowing the size :|

The threaded bit, that I'll have to screw into the keg? I believe that's a 1/2 ". How's that sound?

F**k it. If I don't hear by then? Next week I'll take a plastic tap in and compare them. Be great, to be able to just pick a couple right out of the box and come home, ready to rock

Image You're a Gentleman and a Scholar, Nosferatu ~ as well as a beady eyed, bald headed, long nailed, blood sucking, weird f**ker .

I'll now bookmark this thread. I'll need to come back to it when ever I can afford treats. Right now, I'm in the midst of paying for some building work. Simply can't afford to spend so much as spare time

Forgot about this thread and gutted. Bought all the bits for my boiler from BES and the valve alone was twice the price of the one here. Still have the mash tun to do though so this will save me quite a bit.
