Beer line to tap connect

Post by turbo 2011 » Wed Sep 27, 2017 11:31 am

My mate has got him self a keggerater to take commercial kegs . He pushed the beer line onto tap put the small clip on but the line blew off he said he had very little gas in the line 2 bar to push beer through line . I guessed the beer pressure in keg was to high but I don't really know as I use corny kegs and that's all John guest is their a special fitting for this type of tap.He also tried a jubilee clip also

Cheers lee

attach the line with 'double ear o-clips' and use a pincer to squeeze the ears down for a pressure retaining seal.

but a 'real' dalex style black plastic tap would be a hell of an improvement.
ist update for months n months..

looks like you're looking at the short shank with the permanently attached hosetail. if it's a shank with a thread then the thread is 5/8" which i guess that's the fitting you post after. it will say on the maltmiller site for sure. the permanent hosetail on the short shank takes a 5/16" line, your mate wasn't trying to use 3/8" (a more common size round here) were they?
another name for those clips Fil mentions is i think oetiker clamps
dazzled, doused in gin..

If it is like the one I have, it is too small to take a beer line. I added a short piece of pvc pipe (3/16" ID I think) on it then added the beer line and a JC. Been fine for past year.

Hi,

That shank needs 5/16 beer line, you won't get any other size to fit that barb no matter what physical securing method you use. The best route is to use a small length of 5/16, to the bottom of the tower, then use a JG 5/16 to 3/8 adapter. That will sort it.

Cheers

Rob
