Time to slow carb?

Post by aamcle » Tue Mar 13, 2018 11:25 pm

I've had a Corney for some time but barely used it as bottles suit me very well however last weekend was cold and I was fed up so I put a small 13 litre batch into my keg and dropped the temperature to 5°C.

I gassed it to 10 psi which should give about 2vol carbonation, however the reg passed a bit and it went up to about 20 psi, I turned off the gas and over the next day or two the pressure fell back to below 10 as the Co2 dissolved in the beer. I've topped the pressure up to 10 but how long should it take to get the beer fully carbonated?

About a week or so, if you are topping it up daily, say, morning and evening. Then another week or two before it resembles natural carbonation, IMO.
