Beer Gun Woes - lot of foaming!

Hi Folks,

Father Christmas bought me a beer gun which I have tried using a couple of times after checking out a couple YouTube videos which make it seem oh-so-simple! The issue I have is a great deal of foaming when I dispense into a bottle from the keg. I turn the gas right down extremely low, purge the keg of gas and still get a huge amount of foam in the bottles. Could the dispensing pipe diameter be an issue? I don't have any issues with foaming when I serve beer through a tap. Any suggestions you have would be very much appreciated.

The beer and bottles need to be cold to prevent foaming. A genuine beergun works well, IMO. Do Pegas fillers fill glass crown-cap bottles? I don't want my beer in plastic screw-cap bottles. Doesn't that require a park bench, as an add-on?

I have one but don't use it nasty thing.

To make it work both the beer and the bottles need to be as cold as you can get them and the pressure must be low. I've just built up a Counter Pressure Filler that largely overcomes those issues and works with glass of plastic.

Don't have to worry about temperature with the Pegas. You do need a stainless washer cut to a horse shoe shape to act as a spacer. Then just mount to your kegorator or keezer or a separate vertical surface that allows you too hook the keg up to it and of course the gas.

There are so many. I could bottle a crate of beer in the time it takes to set up a beer gun. Mine is permanently mounted though.

My beer gun is great, did 60 bottles for a wedding last year. Cold is good, longer length of pipe good too

I'll look at bottling at a reduced temperature, probably after force-carbing at 3 degs C. The Pegas does look and sound great so maybe this is one to look at in the future. There is an eBay seller at this site:

are the beers maybe over carbed and your pipework too short for the beergun?

Looks a bit rough to me. You can do glass bottles with the Pegas CRO by adapting a washer, much cheaper and a proven design. If you are keen to have the next generation of a legitimate one go for the previously linked to Evolution. This one need the washer adapter too though.
