Purging co2 without a purge valve?

Hi everyone I've finally got around to putting the my first keg together. I'm now wondering how you guys go about purging excess co2 without a purge valve? Im struggling to think of a way to do it? I've been lurking for a while and have found your posts very helpful!

What type of keg? If it has a gas inlet, that might be exploitable. Failing that, release some beer, I guess.

Do you mean when it’s full of beer or after the keg has kicked so you can get the spear out safely ?

I do it one of two ways. Once the keg has kicked I just leave the tap open until all the co2 is purged.

If you want to do it while it’s full of beer. Just undo the co2 inlet on the keg connector (mine screws on).
