Beer line

Post by Manngold » Wed Apr 25, 2018 10:00 pm

I was advised to get a 3/8 to 3/16 reducer to help serve without foam. Thinking johngyest reducers were all the same I got these:

Will they work?

Thanks

Yes, the stem slips inside a 3/8" jg fitting allowing you to connect the smaller line with minimal fitting space, a lot neater than a few inches of 3/8" line followed by a reducer and thin line if the tap is sat next to the keg.
ist update for months n months..

Thanks Fil. So they 'plug' directly into my current 3/8 fittings and then I just feed beer line to the 3/16 end?

Just be mindful that stem adaptors may have fewer insert/pull cycles in them as the stem will be prone to scratches and gouges from the sealing clips,
so try and fit the once, unlike chewed up beerline you cant chop off an inch or so ;)

If you've got a hand-pump don't use this stuff. I did (first thing that came to hand) and everyone knows 3/16 reduces froth because it also reduces pressure (at the tap) and rate of flow through restriction; but with a hand-pump you get to feel that restriction! The pump handle barely budges and you can end up bending the handle fixings.

Brilliant, thanks all. Peebee, I don't have a hand pump so no need to worry. I am going to adapt my party tap so that i can use that for the time being.

I picked up a pack of 10 for £3.50 from
eBay. I won't use them all, so if anyone is in bed drop me an email and I can post out.
