I'm in the process of ditching my obsolete Midget Widget system and replacing it with a Sodastream setup.
Obviously, the Sodastream cylinder is designed to be used in the vertical position - but can it be used horizontally as well? Naturally, there's nothing on the cylinder or packaging to say which way up it should be used.
Sodastream cylinder orientation
Re: Sodastream cylinder orientation
I use it laid flat on the ground when taking a keg to a party.

Re: Sodastream cylinder orientation
Hi there,
The gas in the cylinder is under pressure so it should work in the horizontal but it may well stop working earlier than it would were it mounted in the vertical as it may freeze - CO2 coming out under pressure when expanding will get very cold.
Better, if you can to mount it vertically as it is in a Soda stream.

Re: Sodastream cylinder orientation
Yeap, best kept upright (vertical). The cylinder contains CO2 as a liquid. Far better if the liquid is evaporating in the bottle to produce your gas rather than in the delivery pipe, regulator, tap, or whatever.
