10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
Hi folks,
I've been getting into brewing little 10L batches - usually very strong beers - and am looking for a cheap options for keg storage. I have a stainless steel growler with corny fittings. Like this: https://cdn.awsli.com.br/1000x1000/431/ ... 15d11f.jpg
They're brilliant. However, they're bloody expensive! Can anyone recommend a cheaper option? Preferably plastic that can handle up to 10psi. Don't care what it looks like as it'll be in a keezer. I'd need to be to add corny fittings to it.
I did see this: https://bristolplasticcontainers.co.uk/ ... e-and-lid/
Could put a liquid 'out' on the lid and a gas 'in' along the top surface perhaps.
Have asked what sort of PSI it can handle.
Any thoughts welcomed!

Or... maybe I could attach this to the lid with a nut and a flat rubber washer...

Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
Quite a few years ago I purchased an 11L pressure sprayer with the intention of doing just what you are wanting. It was all documented on Aussie Homebrewer I think. It's still on the top shelf in my brewery room, I never got any further than taking it apart...
I'll see if I can find a link to it. Edit: Original link I had no longer works, but there seems to be plenty of ideas how to do it online.

These did cross my mind when I was looking. Could be an option. Will look further into it.
Cheers!

Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
THis looks promising. I could blank off the left cap and add corny fittings to the right cap...

There's a lot of this sort of thing going about: 10L KeyKeg
Not just KeyKeg. Kegland are in on it, and there will be others. Not sure if the Keykeg ones are single shot (the older designs were), the Kegland ones are not single shot. CO2-less dispense too. Suitable for high pressure keg and low-pressure hand pumped beer There seems to be a lot of innovation moving on these things. Don't rush into anything just yet!
[EDIT: Needless to say? There are variants with Corny-like attachments.]

Cask-conditioned style ale out of a keg/Cornie (the "treatise"): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwzEv5 ... rDKRMjcO1g
Water report demystified (the "Defuddler"; removes the nonsense!): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Cheaper https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273188609706 ... media=COPY
If these are good for waste they should have good seals which will be key to keeping 10 psi in.

Are these reusable, though?

OK... so vessel is looking hopeful. Now, on to the corny connection.
I could go for these simple posts. Two small holes. Job done. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000414 ... UgNhfNHXGk
Alternatively, I could go with this. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000374 ... NfpfQ3L9yi
Thread size is M 33 X1.5-55 apparently.
Perhaps this would keep it in place? https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/cable-gl ... lsrc=aw.ds
Difficult to say. Could end up wasting more ££ looking for something that fits.

Searched '10l jerry can un'.. UN is a better grade, I think it is a shipping standard.

There are also 15l ones. I would get the clear ones. You can see what's going on.
Be aware HDPE is gas permeable, so beer will go over quicker than in stainless (2 months to answer your next question). The Australian wine industry did a lot of work on this for maturing wine faster.
