10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
Trillions are very good, they easily make stuff you cannot buy that's a funny shape. Together with milliput and araldite hold most of my stuff together
Looking forward to the update.

Although I am not a fan of plastic (many reasons) I do get where they are coming from with this.
That said I cannot find a UK supplier?

I see The Malt Miller is listed as a KegLand distributor - maybe if enough people show interest...

Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
Right... corny posts have arrived from China. Pretty quick!
Have run into a problem that I was fully expecting. Drilled two holes on top of the keg. Posts are in. However, I can't tighten them as the whole thing turns. Obviously can't get a spanner in there to hold the nut while I tighten it from the outside. Any ideas? Is there a such thing as a nut that will grip onto a surface? Something like this perhaps? Although I'd prob struggle to get them in the size I need...

I don't want to use any silicone or rubber washers as the posts will just come loose when removing the disconnects. Have had this problem before with my DIY pressure fermenter. Was a nightmare. I ended up tightening the nuts within a mm of their life and they've stayed in place since. Was easy to do as they are on the lid. Would like to do that here. Help!

Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
Update. I used a bit of Gorilla weld on the inside nut. Just made everything hand tight to create a bond between the nut and the keg. Don't think Gorilla Weld bonds well to polyethylene but worth a shot. Watch this space!

No joy. However, have just discovered the world of locking washers. Will look into that.

Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
Right... settled on wing nuts. Should be able to grip those between 2 fingers inside the keg while turning the outside nut with a spanner. Hopefully I've ordered the right size. Went for M12.
Re: 10L cheap pressure keg recommendation
The only thing I came with initially was kid with small hands, but they have made that illegal now, so won't mention it.
Perhaps a spring washer or a grippy nut.

Cheers Mash. I had looked a that type of thing, too. Then the wing nuts spoke to me.
Hoping the other bits finally arrive today so that I can blank off the screw cap / lid. Ordered 7 days ago. Strikes have slowed things up big time.

Progress! Lid is sorted. Have to do a pressure test obvs, but It's looking good.
Since I never have to open this little unit again, is there any way I can glue it together. More than anything, I feel this will add strength to it. Is there a suitable glue out there? I'm pretty sure its polypropylene or polyethylene.

If you don't open it how will you clean it?
