Major boo boo , took hydrometer reading this morning and instantly realised it had sucked in the half bottle of star san into the fermentor, :o quickly kegged a bottled, bottles being last, just hope its alright , totally gutted , lesson learnt

it must have started to lager to suck that amount in...I would not drink it with all that sanitiser in there.

Me...I would get another one on asap and look at a way to stop it sucking in from the blow off bottle....being honest you don't even need an airlock.

If it's diluted StarSan though then there will be no health risk.

yeah ,diluted , probably over diluted , its was only sucked in as it went to take the sample from the tap at the bottom , well I have a galaxy delight in the other fridge, fermenting , will not make the same mistake :D

I would not like to drink 1/2pint of starsan...even if it was pissed down over 20 pints.Mind you its probably no worse than drinking diet coke LOL

Was just going to say its still probably better than drinking coke. Honestly it should be fine. Drink away, don't throw it out!

Happy drinking,

Ben.

Just a quick question, do you use the jerry cans for anything once you've made this? I ferment in jerry cans that look very much the same as these?

Thanks,

Ben.

Rosetta Fresh Work Kit From The Malt Miller

Post by LeeH » Mon Nov 09, 2015 7:03 pm

Well mine has turned out great!

Best 'kit' I've done. Should keep me in beer until get my AG rig finished.

I hope Rob can expand this range.

I tried this kit when it first came out, really liked it but wished I had dry hopped. Think I may get another one in once I get my Christmas batches dry hopped and kegged.

I asked him at the time if there was plans to expand the range to which he said that was the plan. Would be great if they had a lager option etc.
