Great Customer Service - The Homebrew Company Ireland

Post by PhilNotts » Thu Jan 26, 2012 7:45 am

I placed an order yesterday with the homebrew company and at the end in the notes I just asked if it possible to get the estimated delivery time.

That way I know if there is any chance of doing my brew Saturday morning instead of having to wait a week.Just checked my emails and saw this:

Hi Philip,

Seen your note on your order today.

It came in after the courier had collected todays
order. Seen you wanted to brew on Saturday so we drove over to the depot with it, so it will make delivery. It is due to arrive to you Friday. I seen you ordered crushed whole crystal. I was not sure if you had a crusher so I threw in a bag of 500g crushed crystal malt on the house just in case you get stuck. If you pop a return mail to this email tomorrow
, I can arrange to send you your courier tracking number.

Regards,

I think that's Ditch's preferred supplier for industrial quantities of Coopers Stout kits ;)

It is top service and I will definitely be using them again when i order quite a bit if their product is as good as their service.

Obviously for bits and pieces the postage will be too much but when I'm going to do a new brew and need a bit it will be my first point of call.

I placed an order with them yesterday too for four coopers kits and spraymalts etc. plus a few other odds and sods. Came to about £77 (nice price) and I noticed at the end that it was free delivery too! All sounds good to me, think I may have found a new favourite supplier. =D>

Don't wish to put a fly in the ointment but I ordered a kit from them 3 weeks ago and the site said 'in stock' and ready to dispatch but three weeks later and my order has still not been delivered.

Just checking, but are you sure it's the same company? The reason I ask is that there is another company (based in Essex) with a similar name that make a habit of claiming things are in stock and taking an age to deliver. The Homebrew Company are based in the Republic of Ireland.

That company in Essex with a similar name is where i bought my starter kit from as they had on offer 2 extra kits(was made to believe Woodford Wherry kits) for free.

Received the first free kit last week and it was a budget Bitter kit so was really disappointed. What made it worse was that I received an email off them on Tuesday asking me to review my first Free Woodford Wherry kit which i got.

I wouldn't mind reviewing it if it wad Woodford Wherry but it wasn't that, what a piss take.

so from now on i will be using any of the other online companies and the one or two shops around here

Hi Phil

I hope you are going to give them a review. Tell it like it is.

Just to clarify things, this thread is about the good service received from a company called The Homebrew Company, who are based in Ireland and have UK and Irish websites here:

http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk

http://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie

The negative comments in this thread are about a different company with a very similar name that we don't discuss on these forums for the reasons explained by Jim here:

Boingy is absolutely correct in what he says and distinguising between the two sites.

'Tis indeed, Andy. And Shane's been known to go the extra mile for his customers ~ or, in my case, probably more like two or three hundred!

It may be a good idea to change the name of thread to include Ireland to avoid some poor sod ordering from the wrong site....Like I did.
