Well done Mun!

How did you actually submit your brew for this competition, when living in Wales?

MB,
When living in Wales, I use the Postal Service, the same one that the people in England use! :D :D
I sent a bottle off to `Armchair` 2 weeks ago, same packaging as you send your bottles to me, (in fact, it was in your box)!
`Armchair` then takes the Brew to the Competition. Very nice man, very accommodating and a great Beer Reviewer! =D>

What a cracking brew this is!!

Toasted malt on the nose, combined with full fruity hop aromas. Flavour wise this brew could easily be mistaken for an all grain beer - lovely toasted malt flavour that melds into a rich hop fruit flavour.

Great appealing dark ruby red colour and crystal clear in the glass.

There is no clue in taste or smell that this brew is 7.1%, and I was drinking it while I was cooking a roast beef dinner! Needless to say that carving and dishing up got a bit messy.

Conclusion - Basically brew this to the letter and you won't be disappointed, so smooth, tasty and full in flavour.

Amazing work WA!!

Cheers

I think that Amber malt really took this brew to another level and gave it that lovely malty flavour.

I have only got 25g of Amber malt in stock, so will have to make a trip to my LHBS.............ELC!

I was up in Notts yesterday taking my Daughter home, had three pints in one pub, then four pints in another pub,The Girls were bored watching me enjoying
myself and wanted to go home at 10pm! #-o WTF! #-o
Taxi to Nicola`s house, `Any of my Brews in there`? `Yes, Dad`! Result! Go in the House, 3 TC`s and one ESB! OMFG! I thought I had the last one in my
Beer Fridge! Borrowed a pint glass as well because the Hotel room has none.
Back to the Riverside Travelodge. Clean the glass, Pour the pint, Scream with delight and joy at how good this Beer is looking! MrsAles saying `Shush,
there are people sleeping`! Smell the Pint, Fantastic! Taste the Pint, Fantastic! You are right MB, The Malt additions really make this Brew! :D :D =D> =D>
I`ll have to restock my Daughters` stash soon because they don`t last long!
Full refund of £36 from Travelodge because the shower was not working correctly! Result! :D =D>
Full refund as well last time because a Batchelor Party knocked our door at 3am! They must hate me! :D

Bloody good brew that one mate.

I got a full refund the last (and it will be the last time) time we stayed in a Travelodge, when I woke up in the morning, I discovered dried bogee's on the underside of my pillow

When I complained at reception, the only person on duty was a cleaner so I had to talk to the manager at home on the phone.

Cheers

MB,
The dried Bogies were probably yours and you turned the pillow over in the middle of the night! :D :D :-& :-&

GDB,
The Girls didn`t want a Pub Crawl so we had 3 pints of Winter Ale in the Pub/Restaurant next to the Travelodge.
Went to `The RoebucK` and had a bottle of `Rogue Amber Ale` Then 3 pints of Magpie, Flipside and Notts Brewing Co. Beers! Tidy Mun! :D

well i finally got this badboy on the go today.I have had to take a fairly long break from brewing and today is the first chance i have had .The wherry was nearly 2 years out of date may 2015 but i had a wilkos yeast to hand so i just pitched that.Given that its a strong one i rehydrated the wherry yeast to see if there was any life in it and it seemed to have plenty so i pitched that in also.I almost forgot to put in the 1kg of spraymalt but after re-reading this thread i had a light bulb moment, disaster averted.I am really looking forward to this beer as it sounds like a good one
