Cider kit

Post by Yorkshiretiger1973 » Mon Nov 07, 2016 4:52 pm

Hi chaps

Wondered if you could help, I did a cider kit on saturday it is now in FV all seemed ok but no activity through the airlock at all
I opened it up earlier on today and stuff has been happening as I've got the cruddy brown stuff on top, just no activity through the airlock which I was expecting (previously been an AG brewer). Was worried yeast wasn't working but looks like it is now, is the lack of airlock activity anything to be worried about? Seems weird! Thanks in advance for any advice

My suspicion is that you do not have a tight FV and the CO2 is escaping. Did you take a hydrometer reading for your OG?
