I have not used a kit in 7 years but having moved house very recently and not being in a position to get a grain brew on for a while I picked up an out of date John Bull mild kit for £4 from tesco and was wondering how best to pimp it up ? I have hops a plenty for a hop tea and will be using one of my own yeasts but gave no idea how to pump it further. Any advice graciously accepted.

Some fresh hops are a good idea. Then it's grains and sugars. Do you want it to stay as a mild? You could convert it into a porter or stout with steeped specialty grains. You could Americanise it a bit with American hops, or stick to English' hops.
