Hi All, I am brewing a Coopers Irish Stout with the wort on the 15L mark. O.G. = 1.056 @ 24°C - 1.057 corrected
I will be topping up to the 23L mark with water when the foam dies down in about 3 days. Any Idea`s on how do I find the final ABV % ?
IS THERE A THEORY to work this out ? or do I just do : ABV Formula :- OG - FG ÷ by 7.36 = approx % ABV = 23Ltrs

Re: HELP needed - ABV % Unsure
If you top up 15L @ 1.057 to 23L, the 'real' OG will be 1.037. See here
For ABV, I use the HMRC calculation here
PS That sounds quite a low OG (once it's diluted). Did you add any sugar or DME?
I'd be careful to minimise any splashing when you top up. Once alcohol is present, you want to minimise aeration. I wouldn't leave it for many days.

Hi MTH, Thank you for your quick reply. I used 500g DME - DARK and 300g Demerara Sugar. Just wanted a weak stout for a session drink.
