Wilkos IPA Again......

Post by WalesAles » Mon Jul 31, 2017 5:35 pm

Hello Boys and Girls and Transgender things (PC correct there, I think) #-o
It`s been a bit quiet on the Kit Forum lately, what is going on?

Knocked up this Yesterday......
1 can Wilko IPA
1Kg Med Spraymalt
500Gr Dem Sugar
35Gr Pacific Gem boiled 10mins in 2 Lts water, left to cool down before putting juice in FV
SG @ 22deg 1048
Obviously dry hop with 65gr Pacific Gem on day 7 before Monkey asks! :D

I've not got your kit pimping expertise and experience but with the kits I have done I am pretty sure a bit of grain steeped makes a big difference for very little effort. Steep some grains, steep some hops, hey presto, nice beer! No?

Clibit,
Nice Beer Yes! :D
I have steeped grains in some of my other Kits, always turn out well.
This Kit was a quickie and I didn`t order any grains.

Cheers Wales. No grains in the house? I always have a bit of a stash of specialty grains. Maybe not always the right ones I guess.

It was luvley mun.
No pics though,my inlaws took my camera a few week ago for an impending trip to the Vatican [-o< and i ain`t seen it since....
I must now confess to the use of brewing sugar as opposed to DME.A guy i know tips me off when its goin outta date at the place he works. He reduces it down to £1 for a 500g bag.It cuts my brewing costs and gets rid of his surplus stocks(everyones a winner).
Hop pellets my friend which i infused the cardamom n corriander into.Wilkos IPA is a decent kit in my opinion.
The guy i mentioned just sold me a bag of wheat malt which i`m using in a variation of my session bitter.

1 can brewmaker bitter.
500g Wheat malt extract.
500g soft dark brown sugar.
100g EKG hops.

I`ll post pics WA.

Cheers

 Ahh the joys of returning home!!
Me and my missus(or shud that be my missus and i)have been visiting Pernera just outside Protaras for years now.
A small brewery opened a few year back with a couple of average beers that i can`t think of at the minute.
However we found a place called the Malthouse in Protaras which stock a good selection of bottled belgian beers.
Still in that heat an ice cold lager always goes down well
