Put this on last night. Haven't done a kit in a while, but I am drinking alot of stout lately and haven't the time to use the Grainfather (for shame). Anyway details below:
1 tin Wilko Velvet Stout
1kg granulated sugar
500g Light Malt Extract
125g natural cacao powder boiled in 2l of water
Topped up to 23L.
OG of 1050
Pitched kit yeast and CML Real Ale Yeast (reports of it being Notts?) at 18c.
It smelt immense. One small mistake, I left the tap open as I added the cacao, and a little poured out (at least the kitchen smelt of chocolate, kept SWMBO happy).
Was planning to add coffee after day seven, but might not. Taste was good, very chocolatey.

Mann,
Why add 1Kg sugar?
If you plan to add coffee, why not split the brew 50 / 50?
Go on, you know want to!

WA, my local Wilko had no dme. I might do, the split brew, only problem is time at the moment, hence the kit brew.
Will keep you posted.
