Festival Spiced Winter Ale

Post by Stomach » Thu Sep 29, 2022 4:13 pm

Ive just bought this kit to have a nice wintery ale at Christmas. The kit comes with liquid malt in a bag, and a bag of sugar (plus priming sugar)

Has anyone had experience of this kit, as Im wondering whether to add spray malt instead of the sugar it comes with.

I assumed (wrongly) that it was a two can kit and wouldnt need any other fermentables to go with it.

Cheers in advance.

Fermenting:-

Hello Stomach.I can say I've never had experience with this kit but I noticed on your profile status that you're bottle conditioning Brewferm.A local department store used to stock them but haven't for a few year now.Do you buy yours online or elsewhere?I always did the Abdij for Xmas and would like to get my hands on some.

Hi Wanus

I get most of my homebrew stuff from https://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/ where they stock Brewferm. I used to do the Abdij too a long time ago and not seen it in a while but a Google search turned up this https://www.hamsteadhomebrew.co.uk/Brewferm-Abbey-Abdij

I dont know how you brew Brewferm kits but I always use Golden Syrup as its the nearest thing to Candi sugar, without buying candi sugar. Always good results, especially after several weeks / months in the bottle.

Cheers
