Has anyone upgraded the top screen of their BM?

The wire mesh? No, still the original after 70 brews and 3 years. A bit frayed in places on the edges but nothing major, I can still easily get the rubber seal around it and the grill.

When you say rubber seal / how many seals do you have, I only have the one around the actual bottom of the malt tube itself.

I also have a rubber seal on the top to keep the mesh and grill together but mostly to provide a good tight seal in the malt pipe so no grain can escape up. The grill and mesh are allowed to move up and down. I originally used bits of metal wire to tie the mesh to the grill because I always used to drop the mesh on the grain in a pipe with a splash and got grain on top of it. When I tied them together it was much cleaner and neater to place the mesh/grill. Also when less grain escape the less chance there is some grain gets inside the pump.

So the seal just goes around the round shape:

Interesting, when I made the BreadMaker

For an additional top filter I used an upside done dome FB which worked well, (nearly bought one yesterday but was already sold), so might have to try some of the silicone seal I have left.
