Hi ,
I've brewed a Stone arrogant bastard clone 3 times now (love this beer!) with no alterations other than inverting the top plate.
grain bill for this brew is 7.15Kg

next brew will be a hercule stout clone 10.15% abv grain bill will be 7.4Kg with demera sugar and candi sugar additions to boil.
I'll let you know how it goes lol!

Cheers, :P

Would you mind sharing the Hercule stout recipe, love that beer, effortlessly drinkable for something coming in at 9%.

HI,
Of course and apologies for the late reply, blinkin work getting in the way !
It is a lovely beer, my wife hates the ceramic tankard which is its "glass" in Belgium can't think why its my favourite vessel to drink from LOL!

Hercule stout:
ABV 8.5%

4.99kg Pilsner malt
0.23kg Torrified wheat
0.21kg Chocolate malt
0.21kg De-husked roasted barely
0.41kg Amber Candi sugar
0.5kg Muscovado sugar

40g East Kent Goldings 60 mins
13g East kent Goldings 15 mins

1 pk Abbey yeast white labs WLP530 can handle up to 15% ABV
*50g medium toast oak chips in conditioning tank. I soaked mine in JD for 3 months prior and just added this liquor to the corny keg. (*personal choice obviously)
Mash 90 mins
boil 90 mins

water treatment as per my water report from Murphys for my area.

Now conditioning for 6 months before touching it.
Might bottle some with vodka infused with madagascan vanilla pods.
the other half split , 1 batch with Cold brewed Espresso coffee and the other batch with vodka soaked with cocoa nibs just to see how it tastes.

Cheers,
Baldbrewer.
