As I had already extended my malt tube so that I could use 17kg of grain in my system, (the BAC boys have gone for a slightly different solution to the problem) I then got to thinking what if I wanted to brew a smaller batch, I could use a standard 50 or 25l malt tube, which I have but what if I only wanted one tube to do everything?
The solution (only in theory stage at the moment) a piece of stainless steel band clamped around the 50l malt tube, a few holes cut into the main malt tube, the new band covering these when a larger brew was required.
I am unsure if I will ever brew a smaller batch as I prefer my current brew length, but thought the idea might be of interest to others.
