Darn! The ACE false bottom is 28.2cm.Onthebrew wrote:BM plate, diameter 265 mm, I reckon.
I wonder if the GF Sillicone ring would still fit....might be worth a punt at £2.60

have a look on ebay for "Pressure Cooker Silicone Gasket" and you might be lucky and get one of a close enough size
lifes what you make it!
Re: BM Filter plates
What I should say, for the BM, is that there isn't much of a gap between the plate edge and the wall of the MP. I tried several seals and most were too thick. The edging I've recommended allows the top filter plate to continue to rise and fall under the influence of the pump, which, for some reason, is part of the of the BM design, if I remember correctly.

Incidentally did a dunkel weizen today without the seal as not arrived yet, and again a bit of grain floating about.

Re: BM Filter plates
Thanks - good tip. I've ordered a couple of sizes to play with and will probably try some of McMullan's edging as well to see what works best!woblylegs wrote:have a look on ebay for "Pressure Cooker Silicone Gasket" and you might be lucky and get one of a close enough size
