Post by westy77 » Sun Oct 18, 2015 11:18 am

Hi folks ... Looking for some help I just took delivery of my kit ready to start my first wine a beaverdale merlot 5 gallon... The thing is I work away 2 weeks and two weeks at home ....I have 12 days left of my leave .. Could I get my brew started get it racked into the secondary and leave it for 2 weeks before returning and addons the stabiliser and then finings ... I'd like to get it started ASAP and not sure about the timings ... I home to get the wife involved for future batches when I'm away ... Thanks in advance!

Your best bet may be to start your kit the day before you go back to work, & it should be fermented when you start your 2 weeks off. Then you've got plenty of time to rack, fine, bottle, etc.
