Flat peach wine?

Post by Hairybiker » Sat Jun 03, 2017 12:13 pm

Tesco had a glut of these flat peaches this morning, 12p a packet.
So I grabbed 10 of them!

I am thinking wait till they ripen a bit, then :
For 5L
40-50 flat peaches, de-stoned and cut up
1L grape juice
gp wine yeast
tannin
pectolase
Don't know if it will need any sugar?

Put a couple of L of boiling water over the peaches and stir, add 1L cold water leave to cool. Add pectolase and leave for 24 hrs.
After that add the tannin and yeast and ferment on the pulp for 7 days, then strain to a DJ and add the GJ.
Leave to ferment out.

So thoughts guys, been years since I made a fruit wine. This is the basic recipe I followed back in the 80's and it was good then.
