I have a friend that regularly uses cucumber in his wine (carrot and cucumber is one of his faves) and he reckons it is similar to watermelon. I've yet to try it (drinking or making) so I'm intrigued to see how your wine turns out, keep us posted! I'm about to make some marrow wine. I made a batch a few years back and it is nicer than it sounds, very light and refreshing.
This is a bit pedantic, but there's no 'S' on the end of Tesco.
I've tasted a couple of oak leaf wines (my dad made it years ago and Cairn O Mohr do a spring oak leaf) and they are delicious, though I believe that the leaves can be bitter from tannin if picked too late in the year. It's another on my 'to do' list but unfortunately there aren't many trees round here.wessexwyvern wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 9:51 pmYou can make wine out of almost anything, I remember a neighbour made oak leaf wine once. That tasted like crap too.
ahh maybe he used too big a leaf, they have to be a certain size or smaller, and then it still maybe a wine not to your liking.wessexwyvern wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 9:51 pmYou can make wine out of almost anything, I remember a neighbour made oak leaf wine once. That tasted like crap too.
