Dodgy looking growth in cordial and liqour
My daughter has previously made cassis but decided to try a cordial as well this year. The result is a 'growth' in all the bottles. She maintains she did everything correctly but clearly that's not the case. Any ideas what it is and are they salvageable?

of murky red stuff.That's a very young mother.....

I have a video of another they did but no idea if that can be attached - probably not - pity as a whitecurrant liquor hence much clearer and shows the 'mass' moving about without breaking up. Can't get a shot of that brew as they decided it was undissolved sugar (!) so decided to leave it in the sunshine to warm up - suffice to say it was last week in 30+C and it exploded!!
IPA - Checked examples on the net don't seem to tally with this 'mass' - just looks like a cloud with no distinctions.
Mashbag - I'll ask her to check and report back

If it has a sharp smell and an acidic taste. IPA is bang on the money.
That doesn't mean it is toxic and should be throw away, it is just a different product with different uses. I make vinegar.

Sorry for delayed reply. Apparently no issues with smell or taste?!? Having said that, they've both had Covid fairly badly which might impact on things. Intending going down to see them this weekend so may report further or simply suggest they syphons off into new sterilised bottles and bin the 'sludge'.
