cinnamon

Post by Dave-Leeds » Mon Mar 30, 2015 10:57 am

Just picked up some cinnamon sticks while out shopping. Has any1 used these in apple tc?,

want to know how strong the taste is so i dont over do it.

I normally fill up 2ltr demis and leave them in the cellar to condition so might just add 1 stick to each bottle and see how it goes

cheers

Dave,
I`ve never used Cinnamon sticks.
I put 3 heaped tsp of Cinnamon in a Raspberry TC 20Lts, and it was enough to give it an edge.
If I make another one I will go for 5 tsps.

Yep. Less potent than powdered cinnamon due to the reduced surface area. Usually I'd boil it in apple juice with the other spices and then heft it all into the fv.

I ADORE cinnamon myself - in fact my latest 20l cinnamonator cider had 5 heaped tsp of powdered added, and its likely a TSP or two of cinnamon essence added to the bottling bucket ;)

Goes very well with cloves too.....
