T/C the 1 pot approach ?

Post by Nosferatu » Sun May 15, 2016 8:29 pm

Really quick question . I'm wanting to make a nice quick and hassle free batch of T/C and was wondering if it's ok to do everything in 1 pot so to speak i.e. ferment then serve from my pressure barrel ? No messing around with bottling or suchlike also leaves my FV free for a different brew that I've got planned .
And they wonder why we drink ...

I generally do mine in demijohns, 2 or 3 at a time, and bottle when they have just cleared, and the sediment from bottle conditioning is pretty well behaved, so although there'll be more sediment in your barrel it ought to work OK.
I'd prefer to ferment then siphon onto priming sugar in a barrel though

Cheers Oldbloke , I'm quite happy to drink my t/c still so was checking if this would be a viable option just to get a really quick batch done with minimal fuss whilst I get some other stuff underway . I've been a bit slack on the fridge management & brewing front and stocks are starting to dwindle .

Well if you like it still you'd just chuck it all in and leave it, but there's no reason you couldn't add some priming sugar when you reckon the main ferment is done, take out the airlock and seal it up.
