Turbo Time!
Decided to give turbo cider a go whilst i am waiting for my beer to condition.
I got this on last night. I went for a 2/3 apple juice to 1/3 white grape, pear and apple with the usual yeast nutrient and a cup of tea made with 3 teabags. I used a cider yeast from Wilkos into a 1 gallon demi john.
After 1 hour it was away fermenting. This is not turbo cider its hyperspeed cider!!!!! :)

After a week or so fermenting this is now clearing nicely in the demi john. Soon be drinking it Which is good as the home brew stocks have run out but I do have 60 bottles of beer conditioning, but they will be not ready for a few weeks yet

You may as well make 20Lts, it don`t last long!

I do have a spare fermenter, so a 20l batch is more than likely going to happen. I havent taken any gravity readings and there is still activity in the air lock. Is there any benifit in leaving it to condition or is it a case of prime, wait for it to carbonate and then drink

I do a rounded tsp per 500ml bottle - and I fill 8 from a demi and drink what's left - which works out to about 45-50g per demi. TC does like a bit more than ale.

I errd on the side of caution with the sugar. So i will see how carbonated it gets. Then maybe up it next time if necassary.

Tried a bottle of this last night. Its nice and fizzy not too dry but certainly lacks flavour. There is an apple taste bit its quite subtle. I am thinking this is due to the white grape, pear and apple i used as this is not overly flavoursome.
I added a dash of troppicana 100% not from concentrate (the cloudy kind) it then tasted excellent but all you could really taste is the troppicana.
Any thoughts???

Should improve a bit with time.
I always use Suma apple juice concentrate - it's more expensive but you get more apple into the brew (and the abv goes up a bit, but not excessively)
500ml of that, 500ml cheapo aj, 500ml cranberry, bit of tannin, nutrient, ale yeast, water to 1 gallon ---> nice drink
You could try boiling off some of the water from standard aj, maybe, if you can't get Suma or don't want to pay the extra. But it has good flavour and is spot on for acidity
