Does any one have a recipe for Wobbly Bob, the draught version at 6%
Or a similar clone?

SEYMOUR PHOENIX/OAK BREWING WOBBLY BOB CLONE
All Grain Recipe

6 US Gallons = 5 Imperial Gallons = 22.7 Litres

GRAINBILL
94% = 12.13 lbs = 5.5 kg, English Pale Malt
4.8% = .62 lbs = 281 g, English Crystal Malt (≈70-80L)
1.2% = .15 lbs = 68 g, Black Malt

MASH for 60 min at 151.5°F/66.4°C, add a pinch of calcium carbonate, unless you already have very hard water.

HOPS
1.4 oz = 40 g, Challenger, 60 min
1.2 oz = 34 g, Whitbread Goldings Variety, 15 min
1 oz = 28.3 g, Goldings, dry-hops added directly to secondary fermentor

BOIL for 60 min. Add wort chiller and Irish Moss at 15 min remaining.

YEAST IDEAS:
I don't have any specific details about a Phoenix/Oak house yeast, so if you can get 'em, I'd suggest well-revered historic Manchester-ish ale strains such as White Labs WLP038, Wyeast 1318, the Marble strain…feel free to improvise. If you wanna stick to tried-and-true, S-04/Whitbread-B is fine. Remember, proper aeration and a big, healthy starter are especially important with these English Strong Ales.

STATS:
OG: 1060
FG: 1014
ABV: 6%
IBU: 40
COLOUR: 14°SRM/27.5°EBC

Wobbly Bob's a regular guest ale at my local JDW. An excellent, strong pale ale with a complex (multi) fruit character. I've often wondered whether it would be possible to clone it. JDW regularly host meet the brewer events and the Phoenix Brewery took part in one a few months ago. A few free beers but no tips regarding recipes!

Well, you're welcome, but save the applause until you're sure the final beer tastes the way you want. I'm 99% sure the ingredients are spot-on and the ratios are near-certain, but feel free to make minor tweaks after comparing it to the original...

Best of luck,
-Seymour

Yeah I know what you mean, no clone will be 100% and its fun trying to get there.

I'm just on the train now to go to my local JDW, so I hope they have it on today

Yeah, here's hoping! And if your timing is lucky enough to "kill the keg" while you're there you could beg them for the remaining yeast dregs. I've heard of people getting their favourite brewery yeast this way, but it's a long shot.

I pretty sure Wyeast 1318 is from London, from Youngs brewery, and not from Manchester.

Hi guy's so a great Wobbly Bob clone has been provided and nobody has actually brewed this? I 1st tried this early this year I have done two more brews also. The beer has a darker tone to the original, taste wise it's not far off at all unless I can grab some and take it away from a local pub and do a tasting test I'm not going to be able to say much on it. :)
