Baltic Porter advice

Post by TheSumOfAllBeers » Thu Jul 20, 2017 2:15 pm

Been looking to see what I can throw on a very expensive lager yeast cake (MJ Bavarian lager m76) and thinking a Baltic Porter would do the trick.

The beersmith recipe is roughly:
62:31:43:3 pale:Munich:chocolate 450:black
Hop with something nobly

Any other advice?
Could I substitute Columbus for buttering?
What sort of IBU to ÓG ratio should I aim for?
Anything I should look out for fermentation wise?
