Nordic Optical SS pots

Post by Jim » Sun Dec 06, 2009 10:27 am

Does anyone know who's selling these now? I've scoured Ebay, but can't seem to find any.

If you send them a message they'll give you shipping costs to the UK :)

They're actually shipped from Germany.

The company is Bergland Handels GmbH, D-08248 Klingenthal

Currently, shipping cost for the 100L [actually 98L] pot is 17.90 Euros.

Ah, thanks. That's why it didn't show up in the English ebay search, then.

I'm just idly window shopping as it happens, but the postage costs seem quite high. A pity really.

I've bought them from the French E-Bay site also and pretty good service. I think they will supply any size if you ask.

I have also bought them from French Ebay. I just paid the postage as listed, after sending them a message and receiving no reply. My 100 litre stockpot arrived within a week.

ok folks, now that I have my shiney pots (albeit I'm struggling to drill pilot holes in the buggers!) I'm going to leak my source...most of you are aware of the french side of the german company and the fact that the uk side (nordic optical) packed up a long time ago but if you want more of a direct link why not try ...

http://shop.ebay.de/catering-portal/m.h ... m=&_ipg=25

the german e-bay account of the french ebay german selling company.

After a few e-mails mithering they 'offered' me the stock pots at a price cheaper than the start prices for the listings ...bargain :D ...

75 litre 45x 45 cm - 36,90 EUR approx £33.30
100 litre 50x 50 cm - 43,90 EUR approx £39.61

and combined postage for both at 17,90 EUR approx £16.15

total = approx £90

please be aware though that I had won a 50 litre stock pot off their french ebay sight first and that you will have to pay using a bank transfer...my bank chaged a flat fee of £10 to send the money to Europe (it would have been £25 if it was not Euros!!!!) I asked about using paypal but it was a no-go, even if you can pay for an auction won item with it.
Pots arrived within about 3-5 days via DPD express parcel delivery. The pots came without any holes (i.e. no drain taps or anything) and generally in good condition - just a few slight, minor ripples near the curve of the base - nothing to detract /effect their use or shineyness :=P
ps it's worth using googles translator when communicating (babel fish was nonsensiacal in comparrison)
hope that helps Jim...any anyone else 'pricing up the market'
next post will be on where I got my dial-thermometers and 3-piece ball valves ...and no it wasn't BES :)

Just ordered 2 x 70 L stockpots after emailing them directly (asking them a question via ebay).

Got them for 89 EUR ( £83) delivered, and managed to pay via paypal too :)

Hopefully they'll arrive soon - time to look for some elements and 3 piece ball valves :)
