Re: Corny airtight seal?

You can add extra pressure on the lid seal by placing thin shims under the legs when closing. If you are adding priming sugars to carbonate the beer then you dont want to find that the keg hasnt sealed properly.
Given the choice I would always give the corni 20-30 psi after racking to ensure that you have a good seal and also to purge o2 from the headspace.Having a pub style co2 bottle and regulator makes this process easier!

I did manage to convert a s30canister valve to screw onto a corni gas disconnect and used a s30 canister for purging!

I give it 30 PSI. Seals in seconds and the seal remains even if you drop the pressure to 5-10 PSI.

Candirect sell a 'home brew' seal for Cornys, which is made of a softer/slightly thicker material, which helps with the sealing process. I use these on my corny, using the boingy method of blasting it to 30psi, the lid is a bugger to reopen afterwards =D>
