Proper.
Would love to be in a position to put the money aside for a build of this quality.

Well progress is painfully slow at present, not helped by having a big lack of space where i live and working far to hard on the other side of the world!
I've finally got round to chopping the top of a hot water tank i found on a drunken night out. Pretty simple conversion really, chopped the top of with a hacksaw and fitted a plywood collar

Gave the inside a good clean out with acid, just need to remove the elements to give them a good clean

And then made up a 2 part lid for the top, not my best work on the lid but fit for purpose, needs more screws in it tho!

I was going to fit a bottom drain but now thinking i will just use the lower outlet, will save a lot of messing about, it has about a 200L volume so its not like i will need to get every drop out of it on a brew day.
Control panel is pretty much finished, just need to get the supply sorted for it, so hopefully the first brew day is not to far away.
Cheers
Rich

wow...! This must be a project with a purpose other than just Homebrew?
The HLT is looking pretty good for just a converted Immersion heater tank, we have a Thermal Store tank of about 300L though its full of HE coils.

Progress is ticking on and the end is almost in sight, well hopefully!
Powered up the control panel and to my surprise it works! and i did not even give myself an electric shock

Mashtun is in its final resting place on the left, boiler just need wiring up, am waiting on a couple of alterations to the RIMs tube and it should almost be brew time.
This just leaves the issue of fermenters, where to get a couple of conicals from? Willis, Morebeer or import the spun 60deg cones from the us and have them finished here in the UK?
Cheers

looking top notch, when's your beer hit the market?
GOM has got to be a bit warmer than floating around the north sea.

My beer is years away from hitting the market and for a viable brewery 120L is way to small, this is all just for fun although would make a good trial system for a micro brewery if i ever feel like really pissing the misses off, tho may struggle to get a 10bbl system under the lean to!
The GOM was warm and Brunei is even warmer, got a shock when arrive at Heathrow in shorts and a t-shirt the other week!

Like the idea of the large boiler pot, tryiung to find a 120ltr + boiler at the moment is not easy but then again finding a cheap stainless 2nd hand tank isnt either.
BTW did you remember to earth the panel door?
Cheers

Panel door is earthed so to is the stainless table, and ive checked everything with a continuity check so fingers crossed all is good.
120L+ is pretty impossible, the boiler in the picture is 150L with 2 x 3kw elements, bottom draining and fully insulated. i came to the conclusion i would never find what i wanted so just got one fabricated to order, and it was not that expensive, when you look at the final product i got.
Ive just ordered a matching 150L whirlpool with a tangential inlet which is a little extravagant but will be able to use pellets and properly whirlpool - all in the name of hop aroma!
Cheers

Mmmm for the time being as a temporary measure, I`ve had to order a normal 100lt stock pot, there is a nice stainless 150ltr cylinder on ebay at the moment but alas its in Pontesbury which is a little too far for me to travel.

Elite do make a tidy job of their kit, much better than the Wood-clad David Porter stuff.

Rich,
Your whole set up looks amazing, but that control panel is something else. A thing of real beauty!
Thanks for sharing - truly inspirational.
The only sad part of reading this thread is that, for the first time on this forum, I've come across something that is so far beyond my ability that I'll never be able to make one myself.

Re: Yet another Brewery build, just may be a bit shinyer?
Well the build goes on slower than i had hoped but getting there. just picked up a few bits from ES Fabrication that i ordered over the last few months and as usual the quality is outstanding.
First off the Hop Rocket has been upgraded, its designed to hold up to 1kg of flower hops and is intended to be used as a hopback and also (more excitingly) for dry hopping, SN Torpedo style!

Next was the final bits for the Rims tube, its about 900mm long and houses a 6kw element, i am hoping using a PID i can control and raise the Mas temp for 120L brew runs.

And this next bit is art work, i got board when i was a wok a few months ago and went a bit mad in autocad and designed a Whirlpool with a tangential inlet, this is sex on legs!

And this little heat exchanger, ive been using a blitchmann but been concerned whats lurking in side, so this one comes apart.

The bad news is im not going to be able to berewon it for 6 weeks due to work ;-(
