Getting lager out of a keg with co2
Getting lager out of a keg with co2
I normaly brew bitter and have a plastic keg attached to a pump but I have now got a keg with co2 and tap (which is situated half way up the keg)
Now the problem I have is that I had added the co2 but nothing comes out have I done something wrong?

How much CO2 have you injected?
BTW, most people say that the plastic barrels don't hold enough pressure for lager.

Well it says give it a squirt but I ended up using a fair amount so much so that it was coming out of the unopened tap.

I can only think that there's a blockage there somewhere then.

Have checked this out and with this keg you have a piece of plastic attached to the end of the pipe. But this is floting and making the pipe stick out of the lager.
Any ideas how to stop this happening?

There should be a float attached to the end of the plastic pipe. This allows the plastic pipe to sit just under the surface of the beer,if this is missing then that is your problem.

There is a float and a metal weight but it seems to be making it float rather than semi sink.

Any chance you can upload a picture so we can see what is happening.
Its designed so that the tube intake is just below the surface of the liquid.

a little hard to take pics as I took the float out and just left the tube in the beer. There was beer in the float.
