GARYSMIFF 'S SYSTEM (RIMS)
Re: GARYSMIFF 'S SYSTEM (RIMS)
Ah, thanks, - yip-€€€€€€€€€€€€!!
Next two on order, should be shipped tomorrow, 2x €15.18 + €14.41 UPS.
The difference might be that you are getting taxes added??
I got put off the "kettle element in a pot" because of finding/fabricating the vessel.

Re: GARYSMIFF 'S SYSTEM (RIMS)
I did get a SSteel Pressure Cooker and was going to make a HERMS with it but could not bring myself to put holes in it just like this:
and use a 2 small hole Pig Tail element.
he uses a Coffee machine PID.

So SWMBO has won a pressure cooker then!!
I have taken pics of the re-assembly of one of my RIMS heaters.
It is quite a bodge, so I hope that nobody thinks that this is the way Garysmiff did his own!
You get the wrapped compression reducer looking like this:
It consists of these bits:
The usual assembly on a bit of 15mm pipe is, I believe:
I mounted the seperate bits in a tank connector to hold while drilling out to 16mm:
I discarded the olive and added two o-rings (15mm OD 2.5mm section); this shows a tank connector coz I didn't have a spare T-piece:
I wound some ptfe tape round the second o-ring (about 5-6 times):
A smear of clear silicon sealant for luck (and to make it all slide together) and the finished assembly:
All else should be clear from Garysmiff's original post.

It's only a bodge if it don't work!, and looks just like what I did.

Re: GARYSMIFF 'S SYSTEM (RIMS)
We will find out today then, I am going to try to do DL's Stella for Her using the heater for constant temperature control and the raises from 45C to 55c and then 55C to 66C. I will report back!
