Anyone tried/using successfully the King Keg style float in a bottom tap keg?
Strikes me that getting the dregs out of my bottom tap kegs would be easier, and I wouldn't have to tilt my keg to unnatural angles to get those last few pints out. They have the standard waddington taps anyway, so would take the fitting. Can't see it *not* working.
So, anyone done this before I shell out on some?

Yes, Chris.chris_reboot wrote:Anyone tried/using successfully the King Keg style float in a bottom tap keg?
Did this on a couple of bottom tap beerspheres 20 years ago!
However, in those days didn't realise that beer was not fully matured until it had cleared naturally.
I now have 3 bottom tap kegs and quite frankly think that they are better left alone.
I only now use my KK top tap (with a float) as a last resort.
Re: Float in Bottom Tap Kegs
It's not so much for the clearing aspect, as I would wait anyway.
It's more so I can draw off those last pesky pints without tilting the darn things.
Will invest in some more then I think.
My bottom taps are Hambleton Bard jobs, and I have a couple of King Keg top taps too.
All work fine, but prefer the Top taps as I don't have to balance the kegs on the edge of my table to get a pint off.
Personal preference I guess, but the floats should help my problem.
