I have been given this today and not quite sure what it is, the guy said it might be good for my brewing.

when i first saw it i thought it was one of those bottle gardens... 
it does look like a very large demijohn though

I have one similar its a 25 litre one, mainly use it for wine.
Can use it for beer but need to keep it covered up out of the light

i got a cellar so i ferment in there at the top of the steps, it is 19'c all the time
