Corni as A Primary?

Post by dave.wilton » Sun Jul 05, 2009 7:10 pm

Does anyone use a Corni as a primary? I ask because in this hot weather my kegerator seems like the best place to ferment, but the only thing that would fit in there is a corni. I have a TC-10 controlling the temperature so it seams more ideal. My summer lightning was fermented in this weeks scorching weather at about 24 degrees.

What consiterations are there? Do you just fit the lid loosely? Or would you purge the gas out each day?

Or should I just stop brewing for a few months :(

Pretty useless as a primary. Less so as a secondary but still, clear beer from the outset with no sediment on the bottom of the keg is what most of us strive for.

Thanks for thanks, good reply Chris.

Not quite as straigt forward as I hoped. I brew 19L batches which is obviously not ideal.

Maybe I will have a re-think and see if I can get my hands on another fridge...
