Wort chiller from boiler heat exchanger?

Hi,

I have seen on ebay heat exchangers for boilers at not much money. Has anyone made a wort chiller from one of these.

When I say made I really mean just finding the right hose attachements.

Could be a cheap way to get a decent wort chiller.

There are sometimes new unused boiler heat exchangers available for decent money on Ebay.

I wouldn't want to use a used one though even if it had been descaled etc.

Search for plate heat exchangers which usually lists more items from the USA Australia and Italy but You'll have to pay duties on them if HMCE intercept it at customs.
