MINIBREW CONICAL FERMENTERS

Hello,
Does anyone know how to use Conical Fermenters, I use a 33litre plastic bin. the conical looks enclosed and convenient . Can anyone enlighten me if they are worh the investmet. apart from drinking beer It's my hobby.

The main advantage of a conicals is the bottom dump valve, this can be used for getting rid of trub prior pitching (if you wish) and for harvesting yeast. The yeast can be dumped at the end of fermentation, then the beer can then be kept in the conical for long periods in the same manner as a secondary vessel.

Only you can decide if they are a worthwhile investment, but I would say anyone who has used one would say it was. Most people who say they not worth the investment haven't used one :wink:
