airlock question

Hi all

I have just bought 2 Youngs handy airlocks like these ones http://www.brewuk.co.uk/store/index.php ... l-2-s.html

I have been used to the other bubbly airlocks and was woundering how do these work? do i put the top back on them when i have filled them with water? and do i fill them all the way to the top??

It won't be an airlock without the top, fill with about 1/2"of water and put the top on and see if it forms a lock.

If those are the same as the one I have it is best suited to small containers, a 23l brew will soon blast through them. Good luck.
