Max Grain

I have a 24L Coolbox Mash tun with manifold, I want to brew 30L of SNPA clone. For the first infusion Beer Smith advises to 6.9Kg with 18.86 L of water, which I'm pretty sure is going to be coming over the sides I think I can mash about 15L in one go.

If I adjust the Temerature of the strike water and use 6.9Kg with 15L will it effect the outcome in anyway?

18.86 / 6.9 = 2.73l/kg according to my calculations that will take up 23.46l of space.

If you mash at 2.5l/kg you will need 17.25l and it will take up 21.87l of space.

The answer to your question is probably not

BTW I used this calculator

I've realised that Beer Smith will actually do this calculation for you on the fly if you double click on the Mash Step and adjust the Kg/L or the Water volume it up dates the other automatically!

So how low can you go?

In Kg/L that is
