ATC-800 heating

Post by Scotty » Fri Sep 11, 2009 8:27 am

Going to attempt to rig up my ATC800 today but I haven't got hold of a heater just yet.

Would a 2kw (max) fan heater be ok to use? Or does anyone know of a heater I could pick up today for next to nothing? Or does anyone use a lightbulb?

Cheers!

A 2kw (max) fan heater is way over the top and expensive to run.
Items normally used are a fish tank heaters ie

or a brew belts like

This 60W anti-condensation enclosure heater is cheap and heats my fermenting fridge outside year round, less fragile than a lightbulb and no light strike potential 8)

Theres a garden centre near my houseso I'm just off on a scouting mission to have a look whats about.

The fridge I am going to use is current'y in the conservatory. The outdoor temperature has risen so I was wondering whether I could get away with just the cooling side for the moment?
