Tank connector washer. Polythene ok ?

Post by crowds » Tue Sep 15, 2009 12:52 pm

For my boiler I have picked up a tank connector from B&Q sans washer.
I have some half inch polythene ones that will fit nicely but are they any good for the Job ?
Or should I be looking for fiber ones ?

If you do them up very tightly they may split. I would use some food-grade silicone sealant as well.

Thanks edit1now.
I was concerned about them being able to withstand the heat, but wouldnt want them splitting open !
I have actualy salvaged an O ring from some Tap valves that I had hanging around that fit fine so I will try it out with one of those first :)
