I've got a few bits of copper pipe that I need to solder together for my hop strainer.
I was thinking of buying one of those tins of gas as I already have the brass fitting to screw on the top but looking around B&Q there are several different types of gas which range greatly in price, so which one should I go for and will one tin be enough to solder 4-6 joints?

Go gas (Silver) and Propane(Blue) fine for standard work . . . . MAPP (Yellow) is excellent for harder joints like silver soldering and brazing.
If you only get 4 to 6 joints from a cylinder you are doing something wrong. . . . I've had my cylinders for a couple of years, and reworked the brewery a couple of times . . . and lit a good few BBQ

If you're going to do a lot of it you might want to invest in the sort of gas torch which has an orange hose going to a red propane bottle - I have a couple of the
small bottles:
The refills are much cheaper than throwaway cans for the amount of gas you get.
