Hi all,
Does anyone know if they are compatible? Here's a link to the probe. I bought an extra one to go with my MashMate and now I'm wondering if I could hook it up the TC-10 and push it though an airlock grommet in my fermenter.
Thanks Gaz.
MashMasters Temp Probe & TC-10 compatibility
Re: MashMasters Temp Probe & TC-10 compatibility
I use the same SS NTC probe on my ATC 800 (which uses NTC probes) as you mention, fitted through an airlock grommet in the FV lid centre, works well for me.
AFAIK Fortex list the TC10 controller spec requiring NPT sensor probe.
I got my probe from Ross at Craftbrewer

Manual text says NTC wiring diagram says NPT sensor and http://www.forttex.com NPT. Confused

NPT is the type of thread, right ?
From what I've just rtead on the web, sensors are either NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) or PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient).

Re: MashMasters Temp Probe & TC-10 compatibility
Most thermistors are 10k NTC. There are differences in the Beta value (curve to temperature) but this shouldn't matter too much for our uses.
The TC-10 probe is a 10k NTC. I suspect the other one is too so it should work acceptably.
